Fatshion Whenever: May 6th

Gatsby Inspired Outfit Edition, or Technically this is before Labor Day edition. I saw the Leo wearing something kinda sorta like this in an ad for The Great Gatsby and felt the need to mimic. A nice success, even if I ended up twisting my ankle in this outfit. Thankfully, the pain subsided long enough to take a couple shots.

Oh, and I checked and evidently this is not a full windsor like I thought but the more reserved half-windsor, (albeit a fat knotted half-windsor). James Bond may think I’m a cad, but not because of this necktie.

I’m in a production of Hairspray (as Seaweed) and shockingly, the costumer didn’t have any clothes to fit my 6’7 frame. Luckily my wardrobe tends to include some items that fit the time period (60’s) so we used all of my own clothes for the show. Ignore my shaved face - I was playing a teenager!

In the left photo, the cardigan is from Old Navy (XL, if you can believe it) as are the pants. The polka dot tie is thrifted. In the middle photo the shirt is from Kohls, the sweater is from a tiny store in Houston and the pants are from Old Navy. In the last photo, the suit is actually the one I wore to accept the Homecoming crown wayyyyyy back when I was a senior in high school (2005). It kind of sort of fits (enough to sing and dance in!) although I probably wouldn’t wear it in public. The bowtie is from SolidColorNeckties.com and the white shirt is also from Kohls.
